About

Data Science and Policy Lab

The DSP lab is directed by Professor Omar I. Asensio at the Georgia Tech School of Public Policy. The lab brings together cross-disciplinary teams of students from public policy, economics and social sciences, with computing and engineering students. Teams work collaboratively on data discovery and policy analysis in areas intersecting the School of Public Policy’s strengths in energy and environmental policy and management; as well as science, technology and innovation policy. We are housed in the IDEaS neighborhood (12th Floor South) at Coda – Georgia Tech’s data science headquarters in technology square in Midtown Atlanta. We work collaboratively on industry and federal grants and we love discussing new projects. Our project teams have access to state-of-the-art computing facilities and a data center. We code. We write. We evaluate policy solutions with large-scale evidence. Visit our LinkedIn page and our student-run social media for updates.

We collaborate broadly across the policy and data sciences. We intentionally cross-fertilize undergraduate and graduate students in public policy, economics, computing, and engineering through the language of data.
